S. Eugene Kim
RESEARCH TECHNICIAN
Eugene graduated from UConn with a bachelor's degree in biological sciences, where she studied genetic mutations in potassium channels implicated in developmental encephalopathy.
Eugene’s current work in the lab is to investigate how different blood factors can accelerate pathology progression in cerebral amyloid angiopathy through inflammatory mechanisms using a mouse model. Currently, she is focusing on the blood clotting factor fibrinogen and its effect on secondary inflammation using various techniques including in-vivo multiphoton microscopy and quantitative histopathology.
Outside of work, Eugene likes to cook, play the piano, do printmaking, and hang out with her cat.
